Dr. David Bishop is a board-certified dentist and owner of The Dentist of Allen. An accomplished carpenter from a long line of carpenters, Dr. Bishop designed and built the new 6,500 square-foot facility along Highway 75. His woodworking and artistic talents are on full display in the reception area, framed by hand-carved cypress timbers.
Dr. Bishop received his bachelor's degree from Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX. He then earned his doctorate of dental surgery in 1983 from the top-rated dental school in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report, UT Health Science Center of San Antonio School of Dentistry.
Upon graduation, Dr. Bishop and his wife, Bonnie, moved to Allen, where they raised two children, Olivia and Weston. Dr. Bishop served six years on the Allen city council and played a prominent role in the city's development.
Dr. Bishop continues to introduce emerging and cutting-edge dental technologies and procedures to provide patients with customized care that meets their unique needs. He also takes part in continuing education courses to fine-tune his skills because — like woodworking — he believes dentistry can only be mastered through years of constant practice and improvement. His true passion is changing his patients' lives for the better by improving and maintaining their overall health and confidence with support from his magnificent team.
When not in the office, he enjoys fly fishing, cycling, and spending time with family. He especially enjoys visits from his children and first grandson, Gabriel. He also plays improvisational piano in the praise band at Allen Heights Baptist Church, where he and his family have been members of the congregation since 1983.

I have been going to David and Dr. Kim since 1986. He is the only dentist I will let touch my mouth. They are honest and they will always be up front with me. I really like the girls in the front office also. He hires the best!!! Their prices are the same as other dentists. The equipment is state of the art. I like the way they decrease the pain of any shots that has to be put in my mouth. Do you want to pay for dental work that will have to be redone in a few years? If you do, do not go to this office. They always use the best and the most cost effective treatment.
