For more than 30 years, Dr. Robert Kim has been dedicated to providing exceptional, relationship-centered dental care to generations of Allen families. Since joining The Dentist of Allen in 1993, he has earned a reputation for his gentle approach, honest recommendations, and commitment to treating every patient like family. His philosophy is simple: provide the same level of care he would want for his own loved ones.
Dr. Kim earned his bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1992. During dental school, he earned Dean's List Honors and received the Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry, recognizing his outstanding clinical abilities. He is also an Accredited Member of the Texas Academy of General Dentistry, reflecting his dedication to continuing education and clinical excellence.
After graduation, Dr. Kim relocated to Allen and joined the practice of Dr. David Bishop, where he has proudly served the community ever since. Throughout his career, he has embraced advances in dentistry while maintaining a conservative philosophy—recommending treatment only when it is truly in his patients' best interest.
Dr. Kim has developed extensive experience in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, creating beautiful, natural-looking smiles through custom porcelain crowns, full-mouth rehabilitation, and comprehensive treatment planning. Working closely with our exclusive in-house porcelain artist, he provides highly customized restorations that combine exceptional aesthetics with long-lasting function.

Outside the office, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He feels truly blessed to have raised his children in Allen while serving the community he proudly calls home and looks forward to continuing to care for Allen families for many years to come.

Great dentist office, can’t say anything more positive about the staff! Cynthia is a personable and thorough hygienist. She takes her time, and asks questions about tolerance when it comes to sensitive teeth. Dr. Kim is kind and always knowledgeable.They don’t push you to do things that are not necessary which I also really appreciate. I still have all my wisdom teeth and not once have they said let’s take them out, if anything they encourage me to keep cleaning them well and leave them in. And just to top it off, the front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. No other office has been like this for me. I highly recommend giving them a try, you won’t regret it!
Love this dentist! Dr Kim is gentle and patient. I hate going to the dentist and he has been the best dentist I’ve ever had.
