Dr. Truax is proud to return home to North Texas to serve the community that helped shape him. A graduate of Coppell High School, he completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University, where he met his wife, Mackenzie—a relationship he considers one of life's greatest blessings.
He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2025 before being selected from a competitive pool of more than 250 applicants as one of only eight dentists accepted into the prestigious Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System. During his residency, Dr. Truax had the privilege of caring for our nation's veterans while receiving advanced training in complex restorative, surgical, and comprehensive dental care.
His advanced clinical training includes dental implants and bone grafting, IV conscious sedation, cosmetic dentistry, endodontic therapy (root canals), wisdom tooth extractions, clear aligner therapy, sleep apnea treatment, TMD and myofascial pain management, and comprehensive full-mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Truax is also one of the few general dentists in North Texas licensed to provide IV conscious sedation, allowing patients to receive advanced dental treatment in a comfortable, relaxed environment.
Dr. Truax is passionate about combining advanced clinical skills with compassionate, relationship-centered care. He believes exceptional dentistry begins with listening, building trust, and treating every patient like family. His goal is to help patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident while providing personalized treatment that supports lifelong oral health.
Outside the office, Dr. Truax proudly holds the title he cherishes most—Dad. Just don't ask about his son unless you're prepared to see plenty of photos! He enjoys spending time with his wife, Mackenzie, and their energetic Goldendoodle, Toby, whether they're out for a walk, playing pickleball, occasionally hitting the golf course, or relaxing with a good book.
Dr. Truax is excited to become part of the Allen community and looks forward to building lasting relationships with generations of families for many years to come.
